Coimbatore : The Forest Department have caught a snake at Puliyamaram area near Odanthurai in Mettupalayam.
People residing in Puliyamaram, a residential area near Odanthurai in Mettupalayam spotted a ‘King Cobra’ snake in their area. Upon information, the Mettupalayam range office, Selvaraj, along with a team of snake catchers rushed to the spot and caught the 11 ft snake from the bushes.
Later, it was released into a dense forest near Barliyar. As there are more chances of snakes entering residential areas due to the upcoming drought season, the Forest Department has insisted that residents inform them immediately, if they spot any snake movement in their areas.
