With an aim to raise awareness among the general public to improve the levels of safety on road, the District Administration along with Regional Transport Office (RTO) organised a rally on Monday.
To bring inclusivity of all stakeholders towards contributing to the cause of road safety, more than 500 participants from government offices, traffic police, vehicle manufacturers, transporters association, members of pollution control board took part in the rally which was flagged off by District Collector (acting) Durai Ravichandran.
In today's awareness rally, the participants carried the message of wearing helmets and how it can safely lives in case of accidents.
During the road safety week, starting from February 4 -10 various awareness programmes like street drama, campaigns, walkathon has been planned with the involvement of school and college students.
