Speaking on this, Palanisamy, Coimbatore Zone Chief of the Tamil Nadu Farmers Association said, "Monkeys, leopards, pigs and other wild animals are entering farmlands often and damaging the crops. They also attack the livestock.
Though a cage was placed 15 days ago to catch a leopard, it has not been caught till now due to which farmers are forced to farm with fear. The Forest Department should deploy a special team to prevent animals from entering into farmlands," he added.
