Coimbatore : Jamat-e-Islami-Hind (Coimbatore Zone) conducted a conference on topic ‘Neengal enge sendru kondirukireergal (Where are you heading?) here on Saturday.
The event was held at the government exhibition ground at Gandhipuram in which thousands of members and Islamic people took part.

Speaking at the conference, Shabbir Ahmed, State President said, "Freedom of individuals, equality and justice are the basis for democracy. Constitution has given right to every individual to follow the religion he wants to. Neither the Central nor the State government should not intervene in an individual's choice of religion. No bias should be shown by the government in treating it's citizens".
"Suppression or any form of violence should not be inflicted on citizens for following a religion. Secularism should be preserved’ he added.
