Jallikattu in Tirupur kick starts with fanfare; 550 bulls take part

Tirupur : As many as 550 bull tamers were part of the much-awaited Jallikattu held in Tirupur's Alagumalai with fanfare on Sunday .


Tirupur : As many as 550 bull tamers were part of the much-awaited Jallikattu held in Tirupur's Alagumalai with fanfare on Sunday . 



More then 30,000 spectators are enjoying the 2nd edition of the Jallikattu organised by the District Administration and Jallikattu Kalaigal Sangam which was flagged off this morning by Animal Husbandry Minister, Udumalai K Radhakrishnan.



Alagumalai in Tirupur wore a festive look, with 500 bulls and 550 bull tamers all set to enthrall the crowd with some real-time action. 



In the first phase, 30 bulls were let through the vaadivaasal. Hundreds of police have been deployed at the spot to ensure safety for the spectators. 



Paramedics, ambulance, drinking water and toilet facilities for the public have been taken care by the district administration. 

A team of veterinary doctors are thoroughly inspecting the participating bulls to ensure they in accordance to the state laws framed for Jallikattu.
