15 policemen of the Anti-Naxal Squad were enroute to Gudalur from Ooty on Saturday evening. As they were passing through Thalaimalai, the van lost control and plunged into a 100-feet gorge.
Raja (35) from Udumalpet died on the spot and five others sustained grievous injured in the accident.
All the injured were rushed to Gudalur government hospital. An investigation has been commenced to probe the accident.
