Coimbatore : A team of Police from Singanallur police station have nabbed a burglary gang and thwarted a burglary-in-progress near Singanallur GV Residency, during the early hours of Saturday.
Coimbatore : A team of Police from Singanallur police station have nabbed a burglary gang and thwarted a burglary-in-progress near Singanallur GV Residency, during the early hours of Saturday.
Based on a tip off that strangers have been strolling in the night around a water tank near GV Residency, Singanallur, a team of police headed by Inspector Anand of Singanallur police station paid a surprise visit to the area and nabbed a gang of burglars red-handed with weapons like sharp-edged knives of varied sizes, iron rods used to break door locks, screw drivers and more.
Upon inquiry, the police found that the members of the gang were involved in several burglary and chain snatching cases in the past. They have now teamed up together to attempt large scale burglary attempts in the city.
Sub inspector Arjun, Sukumar, Balakumaran were part of the team.
A couple of days back, a cop from Singanallur police station caught two burglars during a night patrol, while they were attempting to break open a shop below Ondipudur flyover.
