Coimbatore : The Central government chooses and felicitates the best 10 police stations in the country, every year. In 2017, the award was bagged by RS Puram B2 police station.
This year, C2 police station in Race Course and D3 police station in Podanur are gearing up to take part in the competition. In this regard, many facilities were added to these police stations.
In C2 police station, many amenities including purified water, play zone area for children, maternity room for mothers, rest room for policemen, separate lock ups for men and women, and seperate rooms for safekeeping of records were added.
Similarly, many facilities were added to the Podanur police station. Announcement boards for women safety and children safety were placed at the station. A small library has also been opened at the station which has been welcomed by the public.
