Tirupur: In a burglary incident, a house on Ponnammal lay out on Kangeyam road was looted on Thursday.
Nataraj, a real estate broker from Tirupur along with his family left to Kumbakonam on a pilgrimage trip. When he returned home on Thursday, he found his house front door forced open.
He immediately rushed inside the house and found his cupboard forced open and looted. He immediately escalated the issue to the Tirupur police (south) who came along with forensic staff and took trace of the finger prints.
According to police reports, around 47.5 sovereign gold and Rs. 81,000 cash has been looted from the house. Nataraj has informed the police that the burglars have found the cupboard key which was hidden beneath a doll.
The police have commenced investigation.
