Coimbatore: The President’s award in India is one of the highest awards one can receive in public life. When one of our own from the city/work receives the award from the President, it doubles the joy and pride associated with the achievement.
Such was the delight for fellow policemen when Assistant Commissioner of Police in Coimbatore’s Special Intelligence Division, Mr. Vetriselvan received the prestigious award from the President of India. He was one of the many officers from across the country who were awarded for excellence in service. He has already received an award from the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu for his service.
He joined the police department in 1996 and has been serving as the Inspector of the Intelligence Division since 2011. During his tenure, he was promoted to Assistant Commissioner for his excellent work. He continuously worked to promote amity among HIndus and Muslims and based on this he received the President’s award much to the delight of many of his colleagues. The Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore and others in the CCP lauded his service to the department.
When asked about how he felt upon receiving the award to AC Vetriselvan he said, “I’m extremely happy and overjoyed to receive the award. I’ll continue to work towards promoting amity between different religious groups. But few people are bent towards spoiling the love prevailing among the people and going in the wrong path and that is the reason behind the social unrest that prevails around us. So let us practice the love that all religions preach and let people live peacefully”
When an officer receives one of the highest accolades in the country for promoting religious amity it makes us all the more proud of his achievements.
