Coimbatore: The Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu (TRANSTAN) in an event held in Chennai has recognised CII and Yi's 'Gift An Organ' initiative.
To honour and felicitate donor families acknowledge the best performing hospitals and transplant coordinators, TRANSTAN organised an event on January 31 at the Tamil Nadu Multi Super Specialty Hospital, Chennai. The Health Minister, Dr. C Vijaya Baskar was the Chief Guest at the event. The 'Gift An Organ' initiative by CII-Yi was designed to promote awareness on organ donation and break the myths that surround organ donation.
During the event, Minister C Vijaya Baskar honoured CII & Yi Coimbatore Zone with a special award for creating awareness on 'Gift An Organ' across the zones in the year 2018. He also lauded the donor families, thanking them for their noble deed in times of grief.
On receiving the award, M Ramesh, Chairman CII, Coimbatore Zone said, “We are proud to sign up all the major hospitals in Coimbatore, as part of the 'Gift An Organ' initiative. It is this power of collaboration that has helped Gift an Organ to scale up to great heights."
"Over the last four years, many people have worked for Gift An Organ and it is the result of this teamwork that has helped us receive this award,” said Shrikumaravelu, Chair-Health Vertical. M Ramesh, Chairman CII Coimbatore Zone, Shrikumaravelu, Chair-Health Vertical, YI-Coimbatore Chapter and Dr. Aishwarya Arjun, Mentor-Health Vertical, YI-Coimbatore chapter received the award.
