The Pykara Boat House situated on the Ooty-Gudalur main road draws large number of tourists through the year, owing to its picturesque lake, along with the Pykara Dam and the Pykara Waterfalls close by.
With the upcoming summer season just a month away, the Nilgiris is gearing up for lakhs of tourists from various parts of the nation especially from South India who congregate to enjoy the greenery and pleasant climate. In a bid to increase the tourist population and gain more revenue, the District Administration and the Forest department are refurbishing different tourist destinations in the district.
