Tirupur : The Animal Husbandry Minister Udumalai K Radhakrishnan inaugurated the 16th Tirupur Book Festival yesterday, conducted by the Tirupur Pinnal Book Trust and Bharathi Puthakalayam.
The ten-day Book Festival is being held at the Padmini Garden on the Tirupur-Kangeyam road with 144 stalls displaying lakhs of books. Stalls with accessories to help students benefit through 'You Tube’ and various other topics have been made available at the book festival.
The event was kick-started with the staging of ‘Parai Isai.’ Books were sold at a discounted rate of 10 percent. MLAs Thaniyarasu, Gunasekaran, Vijayakumar and Nadarajan participated in the event.
