In this scenario, India is feeding a whooping population which constitutes to 18% of World's population and 15% of World's cattle population" emphasised Tamil Nadu Governor, Banwarilal Purohit at the 28th National Conference organised by Soil Conservation Society of India (SCSI) held in Ooty from January 31-February 2.

The Governor flagged off the three-day conference on Thursday at the Resource Centre For Tribal Development (HADP).
Several scientists and dignatories are taking part at the conference which will stress on water management technologies, conservation of soil, water harvesting, impact of climate change on soil and water and more.
The theme of the conference is "Farmers friendly soil and water conservation technologies for mitigating climate change impact".
