The DMK, Congress, Communist parties, Samooga Nalinakka Iyakkam and other non-political entities garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi located inside the Corporation Office premises and recalled his deep sense of humanity and his unwavering belief in non-violence.
All the members present at the event avowed to annihilate BJP during the upcoming elections condemning the BJP's anti-people and autocratic way of governance as against the democratic policies that Gandhi stood for.
