Coimbatore: As directed by the Centre to set 'Skill Development Center' at Colleges, a tender has been issued to set the center at Coimbatore Medical College (CMC) at a cost of Rs. 2.6 crore.
In a bid to enhance the technical skill set of teaching faculty and students, the Skill Development Center will be set within the college premises.
"The building cost has been proposed at Rs. 1.1 crore, equipments cost at Rs. 1.5 crore, hence a total of RS. 2.6 crore has been allocated for the center. The construction will begin shortly", said an official source from CMC.
A similar center has been proposed at Madurai Medical College.
