Earlier, the procedure followed at Anna University was that students who had arrears in a particular paper could clear it by appearing for the exam in the next semester. But in 2017, this procedure was cancelled and a choice-based credit system was introduced. Students lament that the student pass percentage has declined due to the introduction of the credit system in evaluating their papers.
Hence, members of the Indian Student Association carried out a rally near the BSNL office here, urging to withdraw the credit system. The rally ended at the District Collectorate with the members presenting their petition to the Revenue Officer.
