The Women's Voluntary Services Association runs a 'Special School' which caters to the needs of the intellectually challenged and for the speech and hearing impaired children who require special attention. There are 55 children in the school with six specially trained teachers, of whom five are special educators.

A full-time Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Speech Therapist provide the children with therapy to suit each child’s needs. The school is constantly improving on its facilities by purchasing state-of-the-art equipment as well as upgrading its other facilities.
The Physiotherapy and the Occupational Therapy Department were upgraded with the purchase of special equipment suited to the children’s needs during the course of this year.
Moreover, a Vocational Training Unit was started for the children for them to find their place in society when they leave the portals of the school. Machinery was purchased to make paper bags which have encouraged the students to make paper bags, greeting cards, envelopes, files and garlands.
As a part of the academic pursuits, 18 of the intellectually challenged students wrote the Class 8 board exam last year and cleared it in one attempt by scoring 60 percent and above. During March 2019, these 18 students are expected to appear for the Class 10 board exams which is a remarkable feat in itself.
