Coimbatore : Investors laid siege to a chit fund company in Gandhipuram, here, demanding for return of invested money.
According to reports, Gokula Kannan Chit Funds functioning at 6th Street in Gandhipuram for the past few years is run by a couple Sakthivel and Sudha. They have not returned the matured amount to the investors, following which investors filed a case against the company in the court noting that the company collected up to a total of Rs.5 crore from over 100 people. "If we ask our money back, they are threatening us with the aid of the police," they lamented."
Meanwhile, the chit fund owners have assured to return back the money to investors today, but the investors laid siege to the office and began arguing. The police rushed to the spot to pacify the irate investors after which they dispersed from the spot.
