Coimbatore: The residents of Press Colony in Periyanaickenpalayam have petitioned the District Collector on Monday, against setting of proposed cell phone tower in their area.

"Around 500 families reside in our colony. There is a proposal to set up a cell tower inside our colony. If installed, the radiations emitted from the tower could affect our health. Hence, the district administration should intervene in the issue and relocate the tower to some other remote location" urged the residents in the petition.
