Coimbatore: A father and son died on the spot in a road accident involving a speeding two-wheeler near Karamadai.
Coimbatore: A father and son died on the spot in a road accident involving a speeding two-wheeler near Karamadai.
According to reports, Kulandhai Velu (80) along with his son Kanagaraj (45), a private employee in an industry are residents of Ramanathapuram, near Karamadai. They were deep in conversation with the former Vice President of the Thekkampatti panchayat last night, standing by the roadside. A speeding two-wheeler collided against all three causing grievous injuries.
They were admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital after being initially treated at the Mettupalayam Government Hospital. Kulandhai Velu and Kanagaraj died at the hospital, and Thangaraj who sustained a leg injury has been admitted to the critical ward.
The Karamadai Police have registered a case against Prem Kumar (22), who had caused the accident speeding on his two-wheeler. He has reportedly been admitted to a hospital for treatment of an injured hand.
