Coimbatore : The heroic feat of a Coimbatore policeman who single handedly nabbed two burglars on the wee hours of Sunday near Ondipudur is winning appreciations from the public.
On Sunday 1:30 am, Policeman Sukumar of Singanallur Law & Order police station was on a patrol on Ondipudur flyover. During the patrol, he found that two men were suspiciously standing in front of a shop located below the flyover. Sukumar silently approached towards them and enquired their purpose of standing there at midnight.
As the duo gave dubious answers, Sukumar inspected their bags they were carrying and found large sized screw drivers and a bent iron rod used for breaking locks.
The alert cop then nabbed both the culprits and informed the Singanallur police station. The police reached within minutes and arrested the duo.
The duo has been identified as Prabhu (38) and Madan Kumar (22). It is suspected the duo are repeat offenders as many burglary incidents has been reported at the same stretch.
The brave act and the presence of mind of Policeman Sukumar has been lauded by Police department and the public.
