Coimbatore : In view of the Republic day, Grama Sabha meeting was held in Nanjundapuram Panchayat, Somanur Village on Saturday. District Collector T.N. Hariharan attended the meeting and discussed on various schemes of the state government, public amenities, anti-plastic awareness and solid waste management.
Coimbatore : In view of the Republic day, Grama Sabha meeting was held in Nanjundapuram Panchayat, Somanur Village on Saturday. District Collector T.N. Hariharan attended the meeting and discussed on various schemes of the state government, public amenities, anti-plastic awareness and solid waste management.

Importantly, the Collector created awareness on voting. While addressing the crowd, he said "People should exercise their voting rights. All those have crossed 18 years of age should enroll their names in the voting list".
He also distributed Rs. 25,000 to two women self help groups. He also advised the villagers to extend their cooperation on the ban of single use plastics. Dengue awareness and other issues we're discussed.
Finally, an oath on election awareness and to get rid of plastic was taken during the Grama Sabha meeting.
