As the 70th Republic day is celebrated across the country on Saturday, the Mettupalayam police unfurled the national flag at the Police Station along with a Police parade.
Following this, Police organised helmet awareness rally in which hundreds of Royal Enfield vehicles driven by Royal Enfield drivers, Police and Home guards passed through important junctions for 25 km through Karamadai, Veerapandi Pirivu in the National highways and ended at Periyanaickenpalayam.
The public were sensitized on safe driving and to wear helmets during driving.
