He also distributed Rs. 2000 cash to 24 Corporation sanitary workers for their services for the past 25 years.
Deputy Commisioner, K. Gandhimathi, Assistant Commissioners of all five zones, and other officials were present during the event.
The Commissioner also garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi situated at the premises. Following which, the students of Corporation Schools displayed their cultural talents by performing folk and Bharathanaatiyam dance.
NCC cadets of R.S. Puram Corporation Boys higher secondary School and Annuparpalayam Corporation School marched the parade and paid their salutes to the National Flag.
