District Collector T.N. Hariharan unfurled the National Flag and inspected the guard of honour along with Commissioner of Police Sumit Sharan and Superintendent of Police Pandiarajan.
The Collector honoured the family of freedom fighters and took the salute from the police, fire and rescue services personnel and NCC cadets.
He later distributed financial assistance to the tune of Rs. 49 lakhs to beneficiaries under various welfare schemes.
