According to sources, around 914 members at Meenakshi Hall near Lakshmi Mills and 1392 members at CM hall in Ganapathy have denied to leave the wedding hall. Despite the Police requesting them to leave the premises from 6:30 pm, the protestors have denied to vacate the hall which led to heated arguments between them and the police.
Deputy Commissioner, Balaji Saravanan is presently negotiating with the protestors to arrive at a amicable solution. However, the undeterred protestors have vowed to stick to their stance of releasing all the organisers who have been arrested.
Additional police have been deployed at the wedding halls on both Avinashi road and Ganapathy.
The family and relatives of the protestors have gathered in front of the wedding hall. However, fearung arest of few other members the protestors have denied to disperse.
