Coimbatore : Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration Minister S P Velumani took part in the special 'pooja' organised this evening for setting up of the 'Vaadivaasal' (the entrance through which the bulls are let into the playing arena) for the upcoming Jallikattu to be held in the city.

For the second consecutive time, the District Administration and Coimbatore Jallikattu Association have roped in together to conduct the Jallikattu event at Chettipalayam grounds on February 10.

Speaking at the event, the organisers of the Jallikattu said " Last year, around 500 bulls took part. This year so far, 700 bulls have registered and 400 bull tamers have enrolled their names. We are planning meticulously to make this event a grand success and create additional space for more spectators".
Last year, the event drew 50000 spectators and around 500 bulls took part in the Jallikattu event.
District Collector, T.N.Hariharan, MLAs Amman K Arjunan, PRG Arunkumar and others were present.
