Coimbatore : Lawyers in Coimbatore staged a protest today demanding the enactment of a new law to close the Sterlite factory in Tuticorin.
The National Green Tribunal's order to reopen the Sterlite factory in Tuticorin has met with stiff opposition from the public and farmers. Meanwhile, lawyers staged a protest in front of the Coimbatore Court demanding for a new law to be enacted to close the Sterlite factory permanently. They also urged the ending of suppression levied on people who have been opposing the Sterlite factory.
