Chinnathambi was darted four times with 14 ml of sedatives near Periyathadagam on early Friday morning.
Though it is speculated that he could be translocated to TopSlip, there is no official announcement yet.
Locals, conservationist and environmentalists have gathered in large numbers to witness the process of translocating. They are all eargerly waiting to see, if Chinnathambi too would lift his trunk and bid adieu as his friend Vinayagan.
