Coimbatore: Around 1000 police personnel are deployed in the City for the 70th Republic day to be celebrated at the VOC grounds on Saturday.
Coimbatore: Around 1000 police personnel are deployed in the City for the 70th Republic day to be celebrated at the VOC grounds on Saturday.
Security has been doubled at all entry and exit points across the city including railway station, airport and bus stands. City Police Commissioner, Sumit Sharan and Superintendent of Police, Pandiarajan are heading the security arrangements for the republic day.
Collector T.N. Hariharan will hoist the National flag at the VOC grounds and distribute welfare schemes for the beneficiaries. Students from various educational institutions will perform cultural programmes during the event. Police personnel will also be honored for their meritorious performance.
