The mysterious Kodanad issue was brought back to limelight after former editor of Tehalka, Mathew Samuel released a shocking video alleging CM Edapadi's involvement in the Kodanad murders and heist.
In the documentary, one of the accused Syan revealed that he was told about CM's involvement in the issue by Kanagaraj, Sasikala's driver who liasioned the heist.
Shortly after the release of the video, the TN police rushed to New Delhi to arrest Mathew Samuel for baselessly accusing a sitting CM. However, Syan and one other accused who were in bail were arrested.
The incident triggered the opposition parties to demand resignation of the CM. Though the CM responded by saying the allegations are fabricated to defame his position, today he has filed a defamation case against Mathew Samuel who is said to have absconded at the Madras High Court demanding Rs. 1.10 crore.
