Demand for small onions to go up steeply


With the upcoming festive seasons, the Tamilnadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has predicted that the demand for Small Onions would hike up in the month of September-October.

Hence, the  Price Forecasting Scheme of Centre for Agricultural and Rural Development Studies has analyzed the farm gate price of shallot would vary around Rs. 23-25 per kg for good quality in September.

Further, the price fluctuations may depend upon the onset of monsoon. Hence, farmers are advised to take marketing decision according to the market advisory.
