Coimbatore : On the occasion of party founder MGR’s 102 birth anniversary, AIADMK leader Thambidurai, Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha, garlanded the statues of MGR, Anna, and Jayalalithaa in the city, today.

Evoking the late leader's social welfare schemes, Thambidurai alleged that Kodanadu murder cum heist controversy is the handiwork of opposition parties. The allegations are an outcome of the efforts by DMK and Congress to defame the name of Chief Minister, Edapadi Palanisamy. However, their plan will turn unsuccessful".
While criticizing opposition leader M.K. Stalin, "Holding panchayat level meetings ahead of elections is just another tactic", he added.
Alleging that DMK wants to part of any dispensation which would be voted to power at the centre, Thambidurai questioned as to why Stalin had attended the meeting headed by West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, who opposed to the candidature of Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister.
While taking a dig at Columnist Gurumurthi for expressing opinions about the BJP- AIADMK alliance, Thambidurai said we would not let BJP ride piggyback on us to gain political ground in Tamil Nadu.
Thambidurai also reiterated that "Regarding poll alliance, decision will be arrived at the party's council meeting".
