The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau participated in the Pongal festivities organized in Canada, greeting the members of the Tamil diaspora in Tamil saying, “Happy Pongal Vazhthukal.”

The young and charismatic leader has been a friend of Indians and Tamils settled in Canada, and celebrates Pongal and Diwali in Canada, every year. 

Hugging the members of the Tamil diaspora population who were dressed in Indian ethnic attire, the Prime minister of Canada said, "I greet all Tamils on the occasion of their harvest festival, Pongal".
