The festival kick-started with ‘Pirai Kaliththal,’ an event hosted at the Pudhu Kotagiri village on January 4. Various functions are conducted every day in keeping with the festival.

The Kota tribe arrived at the ‘Ayyanor Ammanor’ temple in traditional attire today, and four head priests in the temple performed pooja to the tribe's lord, ‘Kambattarayar.’ Later, the Kotas performed their traditional dance in front of the temple.
