Palani gears up for 'Thai Poosam' festival

Dindigul : The ten-day long 'Thai Poosam' festival at Palani begins with a flag hoisting ceremony at the Periya Nayaki Amman temple between 10.30 am and 11.30 am, tomorrow.

Dindigul : The ten-day long 'Thai Poosam' festival at Palani begins with a flag hoisting ceremony at the Periya Nayaki Amman temple between 10.30 am and 11.30 am, tomorrow. 

The 'chariot yatra' is scheduled for January 21. Thousands of devotees had begun a walk to the temple since December, last year. 

The ‘Thiru Kalyanam,’ an important event of the occasion is scheduled on January 20. ‘Velli Radha Yatra’ is planned at 9.30 pm on the same day and ‘Valli Dheivanai’ will be escorted in the chariot. 

‘Thaipoosam Theroottam’ is scheduled for 4.30 pm on January 21, followed by a chariot program at 7 pm on January 24, culminating with the ‘Kodi Irakkudhal’ ceremony at 11 pm on the same day.
