Public in Tirupur left in the lurch due to inadequate bus facilities for travel during Pongal holidays

Tirupur : People thronging the Tirupur New Bus Stand to travel to their hometowns over the weekend, were inconvenienced since no extra bus services were made available to combat the Pongal holiday rush.

Tirupur : People thronging the Tirupur New Bus Stand to travel to their hometowns over the weekend, were inconvenienced since no extra bus services were made available to combat the Pongal holiday rush.

After the State Government's announcement granting six days as holidays for Pongal, many in Tirupur congregated at the Tirupur New Bus Stand on Sunday to travel to their hometowns. Since, no extra buses other than the usual bus services were operated to Madurai, Theni, Ramanathapuram, Rameswaram and Trichy, people were left in the lurch awaiting buses for long hours. The public have requested for extra buses to be operated this week.
