Coimbatore: The Coimbatore city police today inaugurated newly installed 50 surveillance cameras and a monitoring centre set up within the R.S Puram police limits today.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore city police today inaugurated newly installed 50 surveillance cameras and a monitoring centre set up within the R.S Puram police limits today.
Through the efforts of R.S Puram police inspector Jyothi, the city police have installed 50 surveillance cameras in the police limit with public support. The Coimbatore Corporation has spared them space at Sidha Hospital here to set up the monitoring centre. Surveillance cameras have been installed at all junctions and important streets within the station limits.
Inaugurating the centre, City Police Commissioner Sumit Sharan said, “Surveillance cameras should be installed in other police station limits as well with the support of the public. Technology should be used to prevent crimes. Surveillance cameras have been helpful in reducing crimes and identifying criminals at the earliest. R.S Puram police station is a good example for this.”
Deputy Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Dr. L Balaji Saravanan, Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Sujit Kumar, Deputy Police Commissioner Perumal and other senior police officials were present.
