Coimbatore: Two persons who were involved in several instances of burglary in Peelamedu, Ondipudur regions were arrested by Peelamedu police.
Several instances of burglary were reported in Peelamedu and Ondipudur during the past few days. A special team was formed under Peelamedu Crime Branch Inspector Anbarasu to nab the criminals. Based on a tip-off, police arrested two persons from Addis Street here on doubtful circumstances. The arrested were Ramkumar alias Kumar (34) from Kavundampalayam and Sathishkumar (32) from Chennai.
On investigation, the accused confessed of burglary in Pellamedu, Ondipudur and police recovered Rs 1 lakh, nine sovereigns of gold jewellery from them. Police said that the total value of recovered materials was Rs 1,90,000. The Court remanded the accused to Coimbatore Central Prison.
