Coimbatore : The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) arrested a Labour Officer near Paapamapatti Pirivu here for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 11,200 from a businessman during inspection.

According to reports, Panneselvam of Paapampatti Privu has been running a company named Dheivam Caliberation Accuracy. It is alleged that Labour Officer, Krishnaveni (57) has been demanding bribe from him during her inspections.
Vexed by her actions, Paneerselvam decided to approach the DVAC officials, who decided to set a trap for the corrupt officer. Currency notes laced with phenolphthalein powder were given to Paneerselvam today, who handed over the amount to the officer.
While he was handing over the amount to her, the DVAC officials caught the erring labour officer red-handed and seized the bribe amount and arrested her.
