4-member gang sentenced to 7 years for robbery

Coimbatore : The Coimbatore Principal District Court today sentenced a 4-member gang to seven years for a robbery they committed in 2015.

Coimbatore : The Coimbatore Principal District Court today sentenced a 4-member gang to seven years for a robbery they committed in 2015.

According to police, Ashok and Nagaraj from Palakkad, Sandeep from Pannimadai and Mani from Chinnathadagam broke into a house of a financier Gandhi in Kavundampalayam and threatened his wife Vasanthi with a knife. The gang robbed Rs 3,30,000 worth 22 sovereign gold jewellery from the house and later blocked a passerby Sahadevan and robbed Rs 2000 from him.

Hearing the case, the court today sentenced all four accused to seven years imprisonment and Rs 1000 fine each.
