According to the statement, the AAI has banned the use of items like straws, plastic cutlery, plastic plates and others at the 16 airport premises. The Hindustan Times reported that AAI will be taking the help of Quality Council of India to assess the implementation of the ban and the ban would be fully implemented by January 31.
According to the Hindustan Times, the 16 airports in which the ban has been implemented are in Indore, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Tirupati, Trichy, Vijayawada, Dehradun, Chandigarh, Vadodara, Madurai, Raipur, Vizag, Pune, Kolkata and Varanasi.
