Vijay Mallya declared ‘Fugitive Economic Offender’, Govt. to confiscate properties

The Special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) Court declared liquor baron Vijay Mallya as Fugitive Economic Offender. Now the Union government can confiscate Vijay Mallya's properties. 

According to The Quint, the Enforcement Directorate moved the special PMLA court to declare Mallya a 'fugitive economic offender' under the Fugitive Economic Offender Act 2018. The Court refused Mallya's application to stay the order to give him some time to appeal.
