Tirupur: ADGP (Railways) C. Sylendra Babu said that ‘Railway help’ application has been introduced to avert train accidents and also for the safety of the passengers.
An awareness program on the safety of women and children in trains along with ways to curb train accidents was held at Tirupur railway station, today ADGP (Railways) C. Sylendra Babu attended the function and demonstrated on the ‘Railway help’ application to the students.
Speaking at the event, he said,"2572 have lost their lives in the train accidents among which the identities of 600 persons are yet to be traced. And, 2242 children were rescued in Railway Stations and were handed over to their parents. ‘Railway help’ application is introduced for the safety of the passengers especially women and children and to bring down the train accidents. Passengers should download the application in their phones and alert us if any inconvenience occur".
"Negotiation is being carried out to install CCTVs across all railway stations in Tamil Nadu", he added.
