TN Plastic ban: Jute, Cloth bags produced by Central prison inmates in Coimbatore garners great response

Coimbatore : Over 2000 Central Prison inmates who have been busily engaged in producing cloth and jute bags have contributed their mite for eliminating the deadly plastics out of the city in tandem with the plastic ban which in force in the State.

The prison inmates who are imparted vocational training within the Central prison are now preparing cloth bags for the benefit of the common people to meet the huge demand for alternatives to plastic.



The products which have been put on display and sale at the Prison Bazaar situated on Nanjappa Road has garnered good footfalls, as the city's denizens are enjoying buying these products. While jute bags are priced at Rs.80, Rs.120 and Rs.140, cloth bags are also sold in the same price range which is purchased by common people and people who run business outlets.
