Dindigul : Rotary Club and Palani Police jointly conducted a marathon to create awareness on the adverse impacts of using one-time use plastics, on Sunday in Palani.
DSP Vivekanandhan inaugurated the marathon that began at RF Road in Palani. Hundreds of men and women took part in the 3 km and 6 km marathon. The spirited participants ran through prominent locations including bypass road, Dindigul road and ended at bus stand.
Around 500 participants including senior citizens and children participated in the marathon.
The first spot was bagged by Rithanya Sri of Pollachi and Balachandran of Salem in women's and men's division. Winners were handed over with cash prize and trophy.
