Karthi, an auto driver near Sai Baba Colony is an alcohol addict and today morning, he has demanded liquor from a TASMAC outlet nearby the area. The salesmen there have allegedly told him that the store is not open yet and they asked Karthi to come by 12 noon. However, Karthi informed police that the TASMAC shop is selling liquor illegally. He then came to the District Collectorate and slit his wrist with a penknife and alleged that the police have registered a case against him.
Collectorate Staff who noticed this rushed him to CMCH through ambulance. On treatment, Karthi said that he is an alcohol addict and he demanded that the government should shut down TASMAC outlets in the State.
On investigation, police said that Karthi has been involving in such activities and a Court here has imposed fine on him earlier for attempting suicide from a cell phone tower demanding liquor. Police said that Karthi has been frequenting TASMAC shops here and demanding liquor for free.
