​Consumer Court fines HDFC insurance company for Rs.19 lakhs for failing to compensate customer

Coimbatore : Coimbatore Consumer Court has levied a fine of Rs.19 lakhs on HDFC insurance company.

Coimbatore : Coimbatore Consumer Court has levied a fine of Rs.19 lakhs on HDFC insurance company. 

According to reports, Vinodhini of Angoorrottai near Tiruchengode, Namakkal brought a car in 2015 at Namakkal. She insured the car at HDFC insurance company functioning at Race Course here. 

Meanwhile, as the car met with an accident, she claimed insurance. As the company refused to provide the insurance amount, she filed a plea with Coimbatore Consumer Court seeking compensation. 

Coimbatore Consumer Court, Chief Justice Balachandran investigated the case and levied a fine of Rs 19,35,610 on the insurance company.​
