Information board on vultures unveiled at Ooty Botanical Garden

The Nilgiris : An information plaque on different kinds of vultures and their benefits was unveiled at Government Botanical Garden in Ooty today. District Collector J Innocent Divya unveiled the board.

The Nilgiris : An information plaque on different kinds of vultures and their benefits was unveiled at Government Botanical Garden in Ooty today. District Collector J Innocent Divya unveiled the board.



The board was installed by the Arulagam organisation and horticulture department to create awareness amongst the public about the importance of vultures which are scavenging birds. 



The vultures which were earlier found in large numbers along the banks of Mayaar River are currently on the verge of extinction. To protect the different varieties of scavenging vultures, the information board was displayed here today.
